Mother of the Bride Dressing Your Plus Sized Figure

Its one of the most memorable occasions a mother can be a part of, the day their son or daughter walk down the aisle to bond themselves with their soul-mate. As mother of the bride or groom, the role you play is going to be as important as any other member in the wedding party even more so depending on the formality of the event and the traditions being observed. So it's important to consider not just the ceremony, but how you, the Mother, should dress not only to compliment the happy couple, but to compliment your fuller figure or plus size shape.

Traditions and Etiquette

For your child's wedding, it's important to consider how you will be dressing. The mother of the bride and groom will usually find out from either groom or bride the details of the wedding party's dress. These details may include the season in which the event will be observed, the color scheme, formal or informal and themes. The bride may even have a very specific idea of what she would like both mother's to be wearing when they walk down the aisle. Be considerate and make sure to communicate so that you can avoid a clash of color or style. Other key notes to remember is to try and avoid matching the color of your dress with the bridesmaid or the other mother, and avoid ivory or white colors as that may be viewed as discourteous to the bride herself.

Preparation and Planning

Once the details on style and color schemes have been hashed out, you'll need to schedule some time to find what dress is going to be right for you. Its recommend to go at least four to five months before the wedding. If that's possible, to provide enough time for fittings and any custom work. This will also allow you some time to discuss those details with the shop owner or clerk, who may have a good idea of what will work best for your figure and coloring. Though there are some things and rules of thumbs to consider going into the process.

Define Your Attributes

Always consider your best attribute and your natural shape, full figured women will find it's not as hard as they may think. For instance, pear shapes it's often the line of the shoulder and neck, or for apple shapes the length of the legs and ankles. We'll get a little more in depth, but once you've determine your shape and best attribute, finding what fits becomes a lot more simpler.

Apple Shape

If you find yourself to be what is called an 'apple' shape, you're generally going to be thicker around your midsection, with smaller hips and legs. You'll find that emphasizing the curve of your breast or the line of your shoulders with raised or fitted waists will help to de-emphasize a wider tummy section. Breaking up the line of your torso can also be achieved by two piece outfits such as a fitted jacket or blazer over a tunic blouse and long skirt. Do try to avoid anything informal such as button up sweaters over your dress, unless the bride has said it's alright. The key is always to try to draw that invisible line for your top and bottom half, to provide the illusion of a more broken up or defined top, middle and bottom portions.

Pear Shape

Mothers who find that their weight more centered on their hips and thighs are usually defined as pear shapes. These shapes can be challenging because the idea is to draw the eye upwards away from the wider part of a heavier bottom. Try doing this by playing up the neckline of your dress or blouse. Scoop or cowl necks work wonderful to provide a bit of emphasis on the shoulders and neck. Extra bead work around the neckline can also add a little bit of a sophisticated touch, while continuing to pull to eye upwards. The skirt of the dress or ensemble should have a slightly dropped waistline to sit just below the natural waist, and it's recommended that the shape of the skirt retain a faint a-line quality.

Hour Glass Figure

For those of us with a full figure in the classic hour glass shape, you'll find your shoulders and bust are fuller, with a clearly defined waistline that moves in and full to proportionate hips and thighs. This is a classic figure and should be treated with respect, so embrace these curves when searching for the perfect dress for your son or daughters special day. Look for bodices with wrapped waists or ruching beneath the bust line to define or slenderize the ribcage and sides. Your skirt should be a-line, one of the most flattering shapes a skirt can have for any figure. Avoid baggy tops or empire waists; these can often detract from the naturally feminine shape Mother Nature has already given you.

Dressed for a Celebration

On their special day, as the Mother you want to look your best. Trying to find that dress does not have to add to the stress that inevitably mounts and grows leading up to the wedding day. Taking a few important rules concerning your gorgeous, fully developed plush shape and a few deep breaths when trying on your choices, will help you to distress the tension from finding a Mother of the Bride/ Groom gown. Then as your walking down the aisle, as your watching them state their vows and introducing your newly extended family, you can focus on the important things and know you've dressed your best for the occasion.

Choose the Perfect Winter Bridesmaid Dresses

A winter wedding can be an extraordinary event filled with beautiful snow-filled scenes and a crisp, frosty atmosphere. Many brides schedule their weddings for the holiday season which can make a winter wedding even more magical. Planning for a winter wedding can be exciting, and creating winter-based themes to match the season can make the occasion unforgettable. When planning a winter wedding, many brides have difficulties finding suitable bridesmaid dresses. Usually, the dress styles for the wedding party are designed for warm seasons. Searching for comfortable, stylish, and warm dresses can be an overwhelming task, but it is not an impossible thing.

Ideal Styles for Winter

There are many styles of bridesmaids dresses that would be suitable for a winter wedding. Long bridesmaid dresses that reach the floor are the most ideal choices. A-line and sheath dresses both offer maximum coverage while retaining a sense of high fashion. Strapless or sleeveless dresses are ideal for warm weather weddings, but they are not suitable for wintry settings. Dresses that are designed to cover the shoulders can look chic while protecting the bridesmaids from the chilled weather. Long sleeves offer the most protection and often have a classic look. Many bridesmaid dresses are also available with higher, more modest necklines. These styles will keep your bridal party sheltered from any type of winter weather.

Essential Winter Fabrics

When searching for a suitable winter wedding bridesmaid dress, it is important to keep the weather in mind. Dresses made of fine, flowing fabrics are perfect for summer weddings, but winter wedding calls for more protective materials. Fabrics like heavy taffetas, silks and crepes are ideal for keeping bridesmaids warm in the bitter weather. These materials are chic and classy, and they follow the traditions of bridesmaid fashion. Satin can also insulate well and it can add a touch of luxury to any winter wedding. If you prefer more feminine fabrics like lace, you may want to choose heavier styles that can protect the skin from harsh temperatures.

Adding Accoutrements to Dresses

While many winter bridesmaid dresses are designed to look beautiful and protect from harsh weather, there are extra steps you can take to ensure your wedding party remains comfortable. One of the best options is to choose a dress style that can easily be accompanied by a jacket or wrap. Velvet or faux fur boleros and embroidered sweaters can complement nearly any dress style. Many brides choose matching elbow length gloves to accompany the bridesmaid dresses. This will give your wedding party extra cold-air protection. Wool leggings or tights can be worn under longer dresses provided the dress is made of a thick, heavy fabric.

No matter what style of dress you select, keep in mind the personalities, ages, heights, and body styles of your bridesmaids. Each dress should flatter and complement the individual woman. Longer dresses can often overwhelm some body types, so it is important to choose fabrics that hang well on each bridesmaid's figure. There are a number of beautifully crafted bridesmaid dresses available, and each unique style can create a flawless, cutting edge look for your bridal party.

If you dream of creating the perfect winter wedding, your wedding party should reflect the charm of the winter atmosphere. With a little planning and research, it is possible to find the perfect winter ensembles for your bridesmaids. No matter what style or fabric you choose, a winter bridesmaid dress should be comfortable, and it should keep your bridesmaids warm. The dress should flatter each individual's figure and enhance the overall look of the entire wedding. A carefully selected, elegantly designed bridesmaid dress can add to the sophistication and beauty of your winter wedding.

Choosing An Adorable but Comfy Flower Girl Dress

Every culture has its own set of wedding customs and traditions. Though fashions change, many of them are still existent today. One of the oldest bridal customs is the role of the flower girl. Long before there was a wedding party, young girls walked before the bride to symbolize her transition to womanhood. They were often her only attendants.
However, they did not actually scatter flowers. In early Greek and Roman times, flower girls would sprinkle grains and herbs before the bride, since they were symbols of fertility. Also used as a symbol of fertility, flower girls in medieval Europe carried sheaves of wheat. What about the flower girls of today?
Most historians give credit to Queen Victoria for starting the popular western tradition of the white wedding. Before that time, royal brides rarely wore white. But when the most powerful woman in the world married Prince Albert in 1840, woman of status followed her lead. The white wedding dress would come to symbolize innocence and chastity. For these very same reasons, the flower girl is the only other female at the ceremony who is allowed, even encouraged to wear white.

The flowers are a bit harder to explain. Historians speculate that Victoria was one of the few queens to marry for love, rather than for political reasons. As a result, the idea of romantic love became popular during her reign. In fact, men first started sending flowers to women they fancied in the Victorian era. Therefore, we can safely assume that the petals the flower girls scatters before the bride are a symbol of romantic love.
Choosing a Flower Girl

The flower girl is invariably the most adorable and tiniest member of the bridal party. But her job isn't nearly as easy as it looks. Just like the bridesmaids, she must get fitted for a dress, attend rehearsals, perform on the big day and pose for pictures. Traditionally, the flower girl is a relative of the bride or groom, often a young cousin or a niece between the ages of four and eight. Because they play an important role in the ceremony, it is often a good idea to choose a girl that is closer to eight than she is to four. It is also perfectly permissible to choose more than one flower girl. Some ceremonies have as many as four!

Choosing a Dress

The single most important consideration when choosing a dress is comfort. Modern girls between the ages of four and eight are not accustomed to wearing formal dresses for long periods of time. On the wedding day, she will have to look cute and comfortable in her dress for at least two hours (the ceremony). If she is an older girl, she will be expected to stand with the bridesmaids while the vows are read.
Tradition dictates that the flower girl must walk before the bride, so she can scatter the flower petals along the aisle. As we said, the flower girl is the only female who is allowed to wear white, since her dress is often a much smaller version of the bridal gown. It is no wonder flower girls often steal the show.
Most designers offer miniature versions of their dresses just for the flower girls, so finding a dress should not be a problem. If the parents are paying, however, price may be a factor. Their daughter will only wear her flower girl dress once, so spending several hundred dollars on it might seem a bit unreasonable.
A miniature bridesmaids' dress is generally a more comfortable and affordable alternative to the tiny bridal gown. Alterations can always be made if the bridesmaids are wearing more adult numbers, like strapless dresses.

Practical Advice

Length

The most common mistake parents make with flower girl dresses is that they get a bit carried away. Yes, it is a special day, but putting a young girl in a dress designed for grownups is a recipe for disaster. In short, most little girls have no experience walking in heavy, floor length dresses. This may lead to an embarrassing episode, i.e., the flower girl may trip. Sure, the crowd will understand, but the child may be upset. We recommend a tea length dress.
Material

Modern brides often change out of their bridal gowns into reception gowns for a very good reason that wedding dresses are uncomfortable. Now, if a grown woman can't wait to get out of her dress, imagine how a little girl feels. The parents of the flower girl should make certain the material breathes well and that it won't irritate her skin. If she complains about her dress at any time before the wedding, parents should bring along a lighter, more comfortable dress for her to change into before the reception.
Accessories

If the flower girl chooses to stand with the bridesmaids, she will need a pair of comfortable shoes. Ceremonies can last for over an hour, and little girls that are not used to walking or standing in dress shoes may not be able to keep their composure. We recommend white sandals or slip-on pumps. Flower girls are also encouraged to wear tiaras, colorful sashes, and even some jewelry.
Follow these practical tips when picking out the flower girl dress for your wedding and your smallest attendant will be happy and simply adorable as she precedes you down the aisle.

2012 Prom Dresses Newest Fashion Trends

The Most Popular Prom Dresses

Beautiful prom dresses trends 2012 as similar to many other fashion styles, prom dresses have their own unique style yet still up to date until today. There are lots of dresses trend styles offering to women and girls as outlined by one's own preference and also character. So many women agree that prom night is something that is exclusive. To get your goals, one of the necessary things is your fantastic prom dress. There are particular things to ask yourself before going to find your attire. You need to make sure what your preferred color is? It can help you choose your ideal color for your dress. Which style can meet with your needs? Make a decision on the design and style of prom dress you want to have. Which sort of shoes that you want to pair with your clothing? Last but not least there are still other questions, which can confuse you. Here, I will advise you the fashion trend in 2012 and how to select your right accessories.
Long, sleek dresses are usually in vogue for prom in 2012. For those who would like to bare their shoulders, strapless dresses with sweetheart necklines may also be a well-known look. Like last year, in 2012 will probably be a trend to show a few skins, even in a long prom dress. Some dresses feature a slit that rises to the mid-thigh. Other dresses have cut-outs to the sides or back. Those who are looking for a more wholesome dress should not worry, due to the fact simple, plain, yet elegant floor-length gowns are in style, too. Short dresses are really a fantastic option, too. Similar to the longer dresses, one-shoulder and sweetheart styles will be loved by short dresses. These short dresses are also more versatile for younger ladies, as they can be worn to other events. Another trend is the one shoulder dress, adorned with rosettes at the waist or on the shoulder. Long, one-shoulder dresses are sophisticated and reminiscent of Greek goddesses. These goddess-like dresses are especially gorgeous in teal and turquoise hues.
Bold colors are a trend for prom 2012

Gorgeous dresses in bright purples, electric turquoise, or pretty raspberry are popular choices. Ombre patterns may also be a trend in 2012. Gradual color fading interior and exterior the fabric are an interesting look and allows you to pair colors together once you accessorize. Stark white is yet another prom trend, and appears great against tanned skin. Fun, floral patterns are also popular, particularly for the silk, floor-length straight gowns that will be the go-to trend for prom 2012.
Including bold colors, bold accessories will be a hit in 2012

Jewelry

Get yourself a matching necklace with either a silver or gold chain or a gemstone the same as your attire color. Wear bracelets in addition to earrings which match your necklace chain.

Hair Accessories

Get clips or a tiara which matches your dress as well as jewelry. When you have long hair and are going to be using it up in a simple bun, accent your bun with some beaded hair sticks or a condor style hair clip. It is also possible to put a few lovely silk flowers in your hair for an enchanting look.

Handbag

You must select a chic handbag which accents your gown as well as accounts for your physique. If you're a tiny, petite person, a smaller, more discrete handbag which doesn't overwhelm your dress or your arms will be best suited. If you are tall and big-boned, you can make your own statement by carrying a bigger purse.

Shoes

Your prom shoes ought to complement either the undertones of the attire or your jewelry. As the footwear could have traces of the gown color, add diversity to the dress by letting them to match the less noticeable qualities.

How to Choose the Right Makeup to Go with Your Prom Dress

You've bought everything for the important prom night: the perfect date, shoes, and dress. All you need now is the right makeup to fit your look. Whether you're going for a fun or a sophisticated image, you wish your make-up to full complement your dress, not overpower it. Here are some tips about choosing and applying makeup on this special night.

FOUNDATION: Foundation is key to smoothing out skin tone and providing a base for the rest of your makeup. The best thing to do is to choose a base that matches your own skin tone as closely as possible, and to apply it lightly with a cosmetic sponge, not your fingers.
Girls wearing pale or whiteformal dressmay be tempted to go for a tanned look with bronzing makeup. Be careful: it's difficult to pull off. A better natural-looking idea is to apply bronze-toned eyeshadows, lip colors, and blush instead of a dark foundation.
BLUSH: Blush is easy. Choose a shade that looks just like your cheeks when you're flushed! Apply it lightly to the apples of your cheeks, and blend towards the sides of your face. There's no need to "contour" your cheekbones; outside of a photography studio, this rarely looks natural. (Note: be sure your blush doesn't clash with your lipstick. Don't mix corals and reds or plums; stick with one color family.)

EYESHADOW: Don't think that you need to match your eyeshadow to your prom dress, especially if you're wearing dark blue or purple. Nor should you wear bright blue eyeshadow if your eyes are blue. About eyeshadow, less is better than more, unless you're trying for a retro-1980s look (and even then, think it twice!) Now, the thing we need to do is to choose eyeshadows that are the complement (opposite on the colour wheel) of your eye color. If your eyes are blue, choose browns and tans. If you have green eyes, try pale lavender or pink tones. This will make the color of your eyes "pop" without overpowering them.
If you're really set on wearing blue or green eyeshadow, OK: you're young enough to get away with it. Choose a pale shade, preferably one that's shimmery. Sweep it across your lid or, very lightly, the whole way up to your eyebrow. This is an especially attractive look for girls with olive complexions or darker skin tones. Avoid eyeshadows that contain large flecks of glitter: not only is it a bit "much," but by the end of the night, the glitter will have fallen all over your cheeks.
LIP COLOR: Lips can be tricky. What you need to consider is the color of your prom gowns. If you're wearing a peach or orange-toned gown, your lip color should have similar undertones. Girls wearing reds and pinks should choose lipstick in those color families. Gloss is more popular than color, so for a trendy look you are able to go with a simple beige-toned lip gloss.
When choosing lip color, consider your eye makeup. One or the other should be dramatic, not both. If you're going glam with eyeshadow, try a subdued lip color, and vice versa. This will make you look sophisticated, not overly made-up.

FINISHING TOUCHES: Don't overdo the eyeliner. A firm, dark line is fine, but don't draw all the way around the eye. Definitely don't line the inner rims; it makes your eyes look smaller, and it's so 7th grade.

Tweeze your eyebrows. If you're not adept at this, have them done. A well-shaped brow frames the face and opens up your eye area. Don't overpluck; ultra-thin brows are "out." Fill in any sparse areas with pencil or powder that matches your brows as exactly as possible.
Use concealer on blemishes and pimples. Don't go more than a shade lighter than your foundation. Keep it in your purse and apply extra right before you have your photo taken. Prom is only one night, but prom pictures are forever (or at least in your mom's house.)
Still not sure about your look? Give it a "test run" before prom night. Make up your face, try on your dress, do your hair, and take a look in a large mirror. Get a second opinion. Neither your dress nor your makeup should stand out in an overpowering way. If your dress is sequined or shimmery, complement it with a toned-down makeup job. If your dress is plain in color and/or style, you have a bit more freedom to use bright, glittery cosmetics. Try out with your make-up, and do not forget to have fun creating the look that''s right for you!

Black formal dresses are usually accented with sequins, pearls, rhinestones, sparkles and sometimes fur and feathers that look stylish and modern. A pearl necklace appears great with a black dress. If you desire to wear a chain with a pendent gold will look good but silver really stands out with black gown.
It's important to note here that shorter black dresses can tend to make you look heavier than you actually are if you're a shorter girl. This is where the maxi dress becomes a great alternative. The maxi dress features a floor length dress that can be paired with a great pair of heels to create the illusion of height as well as the slimming abilities that black can do for any body type. This is a combination every woman can appreciate.

You can also try some other patterns of black dresses like deep V-neck dresses, asymmetric waist dress, gathered side black dress, and draped neck dress with sheer illusion and so on. Know your body shape when selecting a black dress for a certain occasion. Once you choose a dress, it's important for you to accessorize it with proper accessories to show your special personality and your taste of fashion.

The Best Plus Size Prom Dress for Your Body

2012 Prom Dresses

If you are looking for a prom dress this season, it may seem like prom dress designers have forgotten what so many women look like. It seems like too many department stores offer dresses in a limited range of sizes, with 2 being the most common prom dress size.
Fortunately, many top designers offer their dresses in all sizes, ranging from a size 2 to a size 18 to a size 32. So don’t give up! There are many plus size prom dresses available. Before you go shopping in a store or online, it helps to have an idea of what size you are and which dress styles will look best on your body type.
How Do I Measure Myself for a Prom Dress?

To find your size, you need to measure your bust, your waist, and your hips.
  1. Bust: Measure your bust at the fullest part with your arms down by your side. If you are going to be wearing a fitted bra under your prom dress, put on the bra before measuring. You may be anywhere from 40 inches (a size 12) to 50 inches (a size 22) to 61 inches for the bust measurement.
  2. Waist: Measure the smallest part of your waist, which is about 2 inches above your belly button. Similarly, this number may range from 35 inches to 45 inches or more if you are above a size 20. If your body carries most of the weight around the middle section, the waist is often the largest measurement.
  3. Hips: Measure your hips around the fullest part, including your rear end too. This measurement is most likely 6-10 inches more than your waist measurement.
After getting your measurements, look at a size chart online to get an idea of what size you are. Remember, most prom dresses require some alterations to fit your body perfectly.
Deciding on the Right Plus Size Prom Dress for You:

Once you have your dress size, it’s time to go shopping! It’s a good idea to flip through fashion magazines before-hand to get an idea of what styles are popular and what kind of prom dress you would like. Do you want a full length prom dress or a cocktail dress? Are you a romantic at heart, are you inspired by 1950s styles, or do you prefer something modern? Having an idea of what you want before you go shopping can save you hours in the dressing room.
It’s also suggested you have an idea of what dresses will accent your best features. Understanding your overall body shape will really help you out.
Your Waist was your Largest Measurement:

If your waist was your largest measurement, your body carries most of the weight in the middle section, which is common among women. An A-line or a princess silhouette dress will look great on you. If you have shapely legs, consider a dress that shows them off! You can also draw attention towards your face by wearing dazzling earrings and your hair up.
You have an Athletic Body Type:

If you have a defined waist and larger hips and thighs, you have an athletic body type. Look for dresses that emphasize your bust, like an empire waistline dress or an A-line dress that accentuates your bust. You may also want to look for dresses that have intricate details above the waist. And remember, you can always take a dress in, so make sure the dress isn’t too tight on your hips and thighs.
Your Body Measurements are More or Less the Same:

If your weight is evenly distributed, look for plus size prom dresses that you give you shape. A fitted bodice top, a sash around the waist, and a flowing bottom will most likely look the best on you. Whichever dress you choose, make sure you feel comfortable in it. A sleeveless mermaid prom dress with sexy shoes and a great evening bag may be perfect for you!
Remember, you can find the perfect plus size prom dress. Top designers offer their prom dresses in many sizes. There are also prom dress boutiques that would be happy to help you pick a prom dress that looks fantastic on you.

Is a Destination Wedding Suitable for You?

Destination Wedding

Destination weddings are popular right now. If you are engaged and you enjoy traveling and romantic getaways, you might want to consider a destination wedding. The most popular wedding destinations are Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Poconos, Bahamas, Hawaii, Aruba, Fiji, Europe, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Antigua, California, Texas, Las Vegas, and New York. Many brides and grooms fly their friends and family members in, but if you cannot afford that, your wedding attendants can pay for their own plane tickets and hotel stays.

You can save money by combining the wedding ceremony, reception, and honeymoon into one location. However, you can have your wedding reception once you are back home if you choose to. Keep in mind that most destination weddings are intimate, and some only include a few people, so they tend to cost less than traditional weddings.

Although having a destination wedding sounds glamorous, many hotels and resorts offer wedding packages for affordable prices, and they will take care of the details for you. Keep in mind that your destination wedding can be as affordable or expensive as you want it to be. Just make sure you start planning for your wedding at least six months in advance. If you do enough research, you might be able to book flight, hotel, and car reservations for a fantastic price.
Destination weddings are perfect for thrill-seekers. If you have a destination wedding, many outdoor activities will be available to you, your partner, friends and family. For instance, many destinations offer horse-back riding, scuba diving, whale-watching, kayaking, sailing, bird-watching, swimming, dancing, and hiking. If you enjoy relaxing, you can spend your honeymoon on the beach.
If you want to get married when the weather is warm, you might enjoy having your wedding in the Caribbean Islands. You can have your wedding ceremony in a church in the Caribbean or on a beautiful, sandy beach. The wedding destination you choose will depend on the type of wedding you want to experience. There are thousands of destinations to choose from, so you will have to do your research and select the place that suits you.

If you are thinking about having your wedding in another country or state, make sure you do plenty of research online. Find out which activities will be available to you and your partner. Decide what you are going to do there after you have your wedding ceremony. Find out where the beaches, fine restaurants, museums, casinos, shops, and nightclubs are before you travel to the destination.
If you want to save money, you should consider purchasing an all-inclusive wedding package. All-inclusive wedding packages usually include all kinds of special treats like free food, champagne, other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, activities, spa treatments, airport transfers, hotel taxes, and tips. In addition, many all-inclusive wedding packages include all the vendors that are required for weddings such as caterers, bakers, photographers, videographers, ministers, florists, set-up and clean-up crew, bartenders, servers, and a band or DJ. Some wedding packages also include wedding invitations. An all-inclusive wedding package can save you stress and over 150 hours of work, so it is worth the investment.

Plus, many hotels and resorts come with many luxurious amenities such as whirlpools, outdoor pools, fitness facilities, private balconies, live music and entertainment, bars, restaurants, casinos, room service and much, much more! You don't have to spend a fortune to have a destination wedding because mid-range and inexpensive hotels are available all over the world.
Also, before you purchase a wedding package for your destination wedding, make sure you find out if there are any hidden fees. Having to deal with unexpected fees at the last minute can be a nightmare, so get all the details before you spend your hard-earned money on a wedding package. You should also compare wedding packages by their features and prices before you make a decision.
If you are thinking about having a destination wedding, you will need a passport and local marriage license. Make sure you and your partner apply for passports in advance. You can get a marriage license by contacting the local city hall in the destination of your choice.
If you don't want to plan your wedding, you can hire a wedding planner. However, many hotels include wedding planning services in their wedding packages for free. A professional wedding planner will plan your wedding, take care of every detail for you, and create the fantasy wedding that you have always dreamed of. A wedding planner will also make sure that your special day is memorable for you, your future spouse, and your guests.

The cocktail dress is a must that can be worn in many occasions. From homecoming, graduation, prom, to semi-formal parties, cocktail gowns will be your best choice. This year, the trends of cocktail dresses are mid thigh length with vibrant colors and sophisticated embellishments. These dresses will accent your long legs. One of the latest styles of short cocktail apparel is the draped mini gown in jewel tones like fuchsia, grape, green and watermelon. Slight embellishments like hand sewn beads and crystals and even sequins are quite trendy. Draped dresses are perfect for camouflaging problem areas like small bust or wide hips. A draped gown in which the pleats are just over your bust can make your hips look smaller. Metallic clutches match well with these types of gowns.

Short Cocktail Dresses

Short cocktail dresses with feathers at the skirt and hemline are ideal for attending an evening party. You can select colors like metallic gray, charcoal black, burgundy, and brown. Do not choose pastel colors like pearl pink or light sky blue in this type of dress. Pair feathered mini dresses with metallic peep toed heels as well as a jeweled necklace.

All about Flower Girl Accessories

Flower girls have a long history as members of the wedding party, with some scholars dating their participation back to Roman times, when young girls carried sheaves of grain before the bride and groom in an effort to ensure the couple's fertility.
Today, it's a good bet flower girls will be carrying baskets of blooms or strewing blossoms rather than toting bundles of wheat, but one aspect has remained the same: as a member of the wedding party, flower girls need to be relaxed and focused throughout the ceremony, to help ensure your day is as magical as it ought to be.

In most cases, the flower girl is a young relative or family friend of the bride or groom, usually between 4 and 10 years old. Some couples choose flower girls under four years of age, but most wedding planners advise choosing older girls to avoid many of the pitfalls that can plague especially young children, including confusion, nervousness, and downright crankiness.
Like other members of your bridal party, your flower girl's ensemble can be tailored to complement your wedding theme. Be sure to choose a dress that is comfortable and that is not too long to avoid fidgeting or tripping while walking down the aisle. In addition to a dress, other items you'll need to consider include shoes, color-coordinated sashes, headpieces and, of course, the basket.
Sashes

Offering a splash of color that coordinates with the bridesmaids' attire, sashes are usually offered in satin or organza fabrics in the same wide variety of shades as other bridal attire. Options include floral fabrics, or beaded embellishments. Most bows offer a self tie option, and can be worn with the tie in the back in the front off to the side.

Flower Girl Accessories

Shoes

Selecting comfortable shoes is a must for every member of the wedding party, and is especially crucial for the youngest member of your group, when tight or pinching shoes can cause frustration and even tears.

Flower Girl Shoes

Baskets

While some flower girls may carry small bouquets that coordinate with the bridal flowers, many brides and grooms opt for a basket to hold flowers or loose petals that can be strewn in the aisle before the bridal party. If you're considering a basket, your options can run from simple wicker containers to more elaborate pieces. No matter which you choose, there's a style to suit your wedding. Many flower girl baskets are embellished with bows or ribbons that are colored in shades to coordinate with the bridal party attire.

Flower Girl Basket

Headpieces

Like other accessories, headpieces are offered in a range of styles to complement your wedding theme. Popular tiara styles include sweet floral options featuring a twisted wire silk flower crown that can be worn alone or with a small veil. A more contemporary version is a mini tiara featuring sparkling rhinestones. Floral wreaths are more traditional options that can work for any type of ceremony, from casual to formal. For a more streamlined appearance, headbands are another great option, especially when hair is not pulled back. A slim band accented by a single bloom, for example, can be dyed to coordinate with your bridal party's attire.

Your flower girl may be the smallest member of your bridal party, but there's no reason she can't make a big statement. With a little careful planning, your flower girl can be comfortable, cute, and stylish.

Learn How to Dress like a Celebrity

When celebrities make appearances looking like a million bucks, it's not just because they have a million bucks. Well-dressed celebrities have discovered the secret to having an individual trademark style. To dress like a celebrity, borrow ideas from some the world's best dressed men George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West.

It's easy to see a well-dressed celebrity in a magazine and think that he looks polished only because he has a lot of money to spend on clothes. But I'm here to argue that this is definitely not the case. There are two types of male celebrities: those who have style and those who simply don't. And really, income doesn't seem to have much to do with it. Some well-dressed, stylish celebrities prefer a casual look, while others prefer a more formal one. But what they all have in common is that their outfits are well tailored and fit their shape and personality well.

Let’s look at George Clooney, for example, who always takes a formal approach on style, such as at the Venice Film Festival in August 31. He reminds us that while trends come and go, the classic approach is always fashionable. George attends awards shows and premiere events in a perfectly tailored tuxedo, or a sharp black suit with a crisp white button down shirt. His tie styles are always sophisticated, such as a classic black bowtie, or a true blue tie with a khaki suit. His outfits do not contain a lot of color or accessories, but because of this his appearance is timeless. He could step back in time into nearly any decade and look appropriate. To dress like George Clooney, the classic black tuxedo is the only way to go; tailored to you and not a baggy rented one with the crotch near your knees, of course.

Celebrity Dress

Conversely, Johnny Depp, who is one of the best dressed male celebrities, his trademark style is defined by lots of accessories, such as necklaces, sunglasses, bracelets, glasses, silver rings, hats, and scarves. The pieces of his outfits often contrast each other, such as the pairing of a tuxedo jacket with a tattered pair of jeans. He is perhaps one of the only male celebrities out there who can pull this off. You can imitate his look by layering a perfectly tailored blazer over a pair of distressed jeans and a shirt with French cuffs. Leave the first few buttons of your shirt undone, and accessorize thoroughly. He has a sort of "rough but stylish" appearance, so throw away your comb, and warn your girlfriend if you intend to go for more than 3 days without washing your hair.

Celebrity Style

For those who wish to dress with a bit more of an edge, Justin Timberlake is a style icon. This is a celebrity who, in recent years, has defined his own individual style (we're not talking about the cheesy boy band days). An art that Justin has mastered is that of layering without looking bulky. To emulate Justin's style, try layering a white button down shirt with a skinny black tie, a gray argyle vest, and a black leather jacket. Mind you, all of the pieces must be slim fitting to avoid looking heavy. Justin also has popularized the European/Italian cut suit, which is slimmer fitting through the shoulders, arms and legs than an American suit traditionally is. If you have an athletic build, Justin's style is a great one for you to copy.

Celebrity Dress for less

A celebrity who has achieved the perfect balance between classic and trendy style is Kanye West. Kanye's outfits often include somewhat bold, unexpected colors, such as a fuchsia sweater layered over a light blue button down shirt. He also often wears one single large chain necklace, and is rarely without sunglasses. Kanye is undisputedly a bold celebrity, and the bright colors of his outfits reflect this. To copy his style, you'll need a dose of confidence, and a few perfectly un-scuffed pairs of Nike Airs. Also, don't be afraid to mix patterns. You can loop a plaid scarf around your neck even if you are wearing a plaid shirt of a different color.

Accessorizing Wedding Dresses with Bridal Hair Accessories

Weddings are affairs that require critical planning with perfect executions and stunning wedding gowns are always the bride's forte. Wedding gowns are the main events and points of interest in most weddings other than the cake and the decorum lay out. Grooms also look good but it's easy to see that the bridal gowns steal the show. Wedding have over the years seen beautiful designer wedding gowns strutted down the isle but what's a great wedding gown without great accessorizing bridal headpieces and flower bouquets.
Wedding gowns should be a complete affair with headpieces and flower bouquets. The wedding birdcage veils are the most notable and historic part of wedding dresses. Birdcage veils have somewhat diminished its appearance in many weddings but you can still find interesting lace and satin designs that would perfectly complement your designer bridal gown. Birdcage veils have been a part of the model bride look that has persisted through the years and you can also make an appearance with such in your wedding. The veils don't have to be long satin extensions; present designs have seen small meshes that cover only part of the face accessorized with floral pieces.

Wedding Accessories

Wedding head pieces are usually made to match designer wedding dresses but you can also do your own matching with wedding dresses and wedding hair accessories. Floral pieces are great wedding hair accessories and there are various floral designs such as the Swarovski crystal headpiece designs that are great addition to bridal headbands. The crystal details are added to the flower patterns and some designs also have feather details. These floral designs come in the basic floral patterns or satin twists that resemble the flower. They can be single floral pieces attached to the hair or bridal headband details.
Wedding Accessories

Other than crystals, bridal headpieces are also accessorized during pearls for the complete wedding dress look. Pearls are sophisticated and very classy designs to add to headpieces and they will be a great addition to the look. The pearls can be added to the satin floral patterns and also detailed to designer wedding gowns either matching the headpiece or just as unique designer wedding gowns designs.
With the floral bridal hair pieces you can also choose floral designs that you love the most. You can get lilies, roses, daisies and chrysanthemum among other floral pieces. The floral pieces can also be designed on the wedding dresses.

Wedding dresses and wedding head pieces should be perfectly matched for the complete look. When planning to accessorize your wedding dress with a bridal headpiece, you should work together with a hairstylist to make sure that the headpiece will fit well with your hair. Different hairstyles accentuate the headpieces in different ways whether holding the hair up or letting it down. Hair stylists who have had experience with making hair for wedding occasions will know which best way to insert the bridal headpieces so that your hear will look great.

Tips to Coordinate Wedding Dresses and Bridesmaid Dresses

There is nothing worse than walking down the aisle; all eyes are on you, wearing a dress that does not make you look your best. Being asked to be a bridesmaid is an honor, but the process of choosing a bridesmaid dress can be precarious. In many cases, bridesmaids must listen to the bride make big promises about how the dresses will fit perfectly and flatter their specific body type. And, of course the bridesmaids will be able to wear their dresses again!
Fortunately, times have changed. There are beautiful and elegant dresses available for bridesmaids. Now, it's just up to the bride to follow the latest trend: coordinating her dress with the bridesmaid dresses. Here are some tips to help with this challenge.
Modern bridesmaid dresses are available in a wide variety of lengths, styles, colors and fabrics. Note to the style-challenged bride: your bridesmaids do not need to wear the exact same dress.

A Bridesmaid By Bridesmaid Basis

Choose dresses for your bridesmaids that are specific to their body types. The ideal bridesmaid dress conceals flaws and emphasizes assets. Bridesmaids with pear-shaped bodies look striking in ball-gown style dresses. These gowns, however, are not the most flattering for full-figured bridesmaids, as they can over-exaggerate their size. Consider dresses with sleek silhouettes for your petite maids.
Try a column style for these ladies; otherwise, they might appear "lost" in the dress. Another option for petites: empire waist dresses; great for those with small bust lines. Your curvy gals look great in mermaid-style gowns that hug the body and spill into a pretty flare from the knee down.
Color Them Beautiful

For all the less-than-enthusiastic bridesmaids out there, new colors for bridesmaid dress collections boast a wide range of fantastic color choices. Good news: pastels are out, as are the old standards. Say goodbye to the mauve, and hello to the...orange? Yep. Deep colors like dark navy, grape and rich, sunset orange are hot right now. Chocolate is a big favor, as well.
Trend alert: combos and color runs. Many dressmakers offer different bridesmaid dress styles in the same color. Just pick your color and let your bridesmaids do the rest. Each gets to pick her own style. It's less hassle for you and more fun for them; a win-win situation (and potentially re-wearable, because it's something they actually like). Color runs simply involve each bridesmaid wearing the same dress in a different color; great for the whimsical wedding party.

Regardless of what color you choose, make sure you find your wedding dress first. You must select your color, and then base your bridesmaids' dresses around it, not the other way around. It's all about you this time around. After you've chosen your gown, you'll know for a fact whether your bridesmaids' dresses complement yours. Also, consider your theme first, if you want one.

Wedding Dress Perfection - Petite or Pleasantly Plump

The biggest challenge for any bride-to-be is to make the right decision when choosing her wedding dress like that choosing the ideal partner she wants to spend the rest of her life with. This is why the bride dreams of being princess on that day. So let’s make your dream come true. Brides-to-be need to consider the comfort level when choosing the wedding dress. If the dress causes you extreme discomfort; then expect all dances at the reception to be that of a waltz, heaven forbid should you take to the floor to do the hippy shake. Keep in mind that if the dress is tight it will hamper your circulation and cause you to faint.

Plans for the wedding dress usually start months before the set date, well in advance in some cases. What you have to remember once you have chosen the gown you have to stick with your diet, no piling on the pounds only to lose them with more expense incurred where the wedding dress has to be altered.

Styles of wedding dress selections can be chosen personally from a bridal shop. Magazines are also a good choice for making your selection and for gathering some useful tips on wedding plans

An important factor that has to be considered is body types. Petite to pleasantly plump figure shapes will definitely need to be taken into consideration when making that decision in what will or will not suit your frame. Either way regardless of size the right choice will have you looking beautiful on the day. To find the perfect wedding dress is to be prepared to make a day of it where the trying of many will be in abundance.

Vera Wang is one of the famous names in the world of weddings. VW is noted for the detailing put into her gowns along with luxurious craftsmanship, also an additional bonus of personal hand beading. Famous stars like Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson line up in the wedding queue, not forgetting Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman. If your budget allows then go all out for a designer dress.

Other options for the pocket which says go easy on the pennies. In addition to the more traditional bridal shops, check out discount stores, charity shops, even going online stores, which is another fine option recommended and far less expensive.

Common sense prevails when buying the perfect wedding dress online, because of the way the purchase is to be handled, it is a good chance that you only get to see the dress by photo so be sure to check measurements and be specific when asking details on the condition of the dress. Another important factor is to double check on the person selling before going ahead with any transaction involving money.

If it is a traditional wedding theme that you have in mind for the wedding then go for a vintage wedding dress. Vintage wedding dresses intend to discolor so check this out before making a purchase. Remember vintage represents old so check for wear or tear.

Vintage dress fabrics dating back to the 1900 and earlier have a tendency to deteriorate.

Setting your heart on a specific design only to find that it is not available due to age or over your budget limit then make enquiries for a reproduction of the chosen wedding dress you had in mind. You can find many stores that focus particularly on reproduction dresses where designed wedding gowns on specific themes or periods of time hang in dozens on rails waiting to be snapped up.

Dreams do come true if you make them happen. Well girls what are you waiting for your dream theme is just waiting to happen.

Ladylike and Feminine Bridesmaid Dresses for 2012

Perfect Bridesmaid Dresses

If you plan to get married next year, you should know something about the fashion trends in wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. 2012 collections for brides and bridesmaids have been showcased, have you noticed the latest bridesmaid dress trends? Do you know which style will be popular in next year? One trend for 2012 will be ladylike and feminine bridesmaid gowns.

Ladylike bridesmaid gowns have classic silhouettes. For 2012 bridesmaids, there will be many gowns with strapless necklines. Another typical neckline will be the classic bateau. Less popular will be halter styles, which usually are trendier than timeless. One shoulder necklines are still popular for more formal dresses. Many of the ladylike styles feature a natural waistline and knee length. This is definitely an easy-to-wear situation that will be flattering to many bridesmaids.

Jewel's tones are an important trend for 2012 bridesmaids. Featured colors bundled grape, dark navy, burgundy, and orange. Black was also observed in several of the ladylike silhouettes, including an elegant bateau neck using a knee-length skirt. The rich jewel tones match the classic shapes of the new bridesmaid dresses. Pearl bridesmaid diamond jewelry is a natural option with this type of timeless dresses.
