Hottest Homecoming Dresses 2012

A new collection of homecoming dresses have been released by famous designers. The main style is short length. This is quite understandable, because girls will need to dance at homecoming party. The short style adds convenience to dancing. Short length will be eye-catching with right design. When you are searching for homecoming styles, please remember that the most important thing is to choose a flattering cut for your figure.
As for me, I like pleated waistline homecoming dresses best. This style is perfect for a full figure woman. A pleated waistline can make your waist appear to be several inches smaller while drawing attention upwards to one's bust line. A pleated homecoming dress can enhance the overall appearance of the look.
A pleated dress is a right style to add an unexpected element fun to a girl's homecoming look. This style is for more mature looking. You are growing up, and step forward to a future full of surprises and expectations. This future contains more challenges for you to take. A more mature dress sends a message to people around you that you are ready. The pleated dress is a right choice for you. The style will allow a young lady to appear mature and youthful. It can create the appearance of additional weight around the hips. A neckline selection plays a key role in this style. The neckline that can enhance a woman's bust line is what you should look for.
Short is a must for homecoming party. Homecoming party is less party, so formal dresses are not your styles. Short homecoming dresses are right for the party, and are convenient to dance for the dancing.
A-line or ball gown is another popular. Strapless bubble hem is a classic a-line style; it is a perfect for girls with any body types.
Ball gowns are another popular style. They are comfortable to wear, and convenient to dance. This style is also flattering for almost body shape.
A popular style will not shine to its fullest content, if no bright color is to go with it. It is full of fun for homecoming party. Hot pink, electric blue, bright red, and timeless black and classic white is your top choices. When you are choosing for markup and accessories, remember to choose color-match your makeup and accessories.
When you are searching for homecoming dresses, you must essentially enjoy it. All type of formal dress designs can be found at online stores, retail stores. The outfit styles suit your body and personality.
Anyway, comfort is the top factor to consider, next to style and designs, when you are searching for homecoming dresses.

How to Choose Maternity Wedding Dresses

In the past, visibly pregnant women walking down the aisle were subject to scorn of others. You were either married in quick civil ceremonies or walked down the aisle when you were barely showing in the middle. Either way, you were often not allowed to choose your wedding dress, a privilege and a joy for most brides.
Fortunately, modern norms have made it possible to walk down the aisle as gloriously pregnant as you can be! Your pregnancy may even be a source of inspiration for other couples. So don't choose that ugly, matronly, silly smock if you don't want to, especially not with specially-designed maternity wedding dresses to choose from.

When to Choose

Well, now is the best time! Even when your belly is constantly growing, you must never wait until the last minute to choose your wedding dress because you might just end up with the wrong one.
For example, you are three months along and your wedding day is on your sixth month. Well, you should buy a perfect wedding dress now although you have to wait until at least 2 weeks before the wedding day to have your actual fitting. In this case, the perfect dress will fit you perfectly!

Where to Choose

You have a lot of options when it comes to your maternity wedding dress. Firstly, you can look through online stores. You are sure to find an online store that sells a wide variety of maternity wedding dresses, with excellent customer service. Just make sure to provide for allowances.
Secondly, you can also browse through department stores with their beautiful maternity dresses in different colors. Yes, you can also wear colored wedding dress on your wedding day, if you like.
Thirdly, look through designer boutiques that offer maternity wedding dresses. You are assured that these dresses were specially designed to flatter the pregnant figure, provide utmost comfort, and even be adjustable based on your pregnancy state. You might have to pay a little bit more but it will be worth it.
Lastly, you must also look through catalogs and then have your favorite seamstress sew your dream dress. Once more, just make sure to make allowance especially when your wedding will still be in several months' later.
How to Choose

It must be emphasized that muumuus are not the one and only option for the modern bride who just happens to be pregnant. You can even appear sexy and/or cute despite your watermelon of a belly! Just look at Mary Shelton's cleavage-baring dress on the red carpet of a movie premier to get some inspiration.
Just choose the cut and color that best flatter your skin tone, hair color and belly bump. You have a lot of choices in maternity wedding dresses, too - strapless, A-line, empire, halter and spaghetti straps, to name a few.
One word of caution, though. It is not and will never be sexy to show off your belly in a cut-out dress! It's tacky, trashy and tricky, to say the least. Cover your belly, bare your other assets, say, your great shoulder line.

Mother of the Bride Dresses for an Autumn Ceremony

Autumn is a wonderful time of the year for a wedding, with brilliant colors in the trees and festive decorations going up in homes. Color and festivity can enliven even the most elegant of weddings as well, bringing fresh choices for the entire wedding party. But mother of the bride dresses for an autumn ceremony can be particularly engaging with all the new choices available today.

For a casual wedding, the bride's mom might choose to wear a pantsuit that picks up some of the colors of the season. A 3/4 Satin Jacket & Chiffon Pant Set in heather and black will reflect one of the subtler colors of the leaves on the trees surrounding the backyard wedding ceremony. The jacket is in heather brocade fabric and features 3/4 length sleeves with a delicious detail at the sleeve hems, plus three black buttons down the front.

A satiny black ribbon accents the waist, and the portrait style collar is flattering to any woman. The pants are of black chiffon with wide legs that will give her that graceful flutter of fabric as she strolls up the aisle to take her seat. This two-piece set will help Mom stay beautiful and comfortable throughout the ceremony and reception.

A slightly more sophisticated wedding requires more elegant garb. Mother's 3/4 Sleeve Shantung Three Piece Suit in royal blue will reflect the subtle color of the autumn sky. This outfit features a tank bodice under a jacket that closes with a single button. The skirt is knee length and features a subtle swirl pattern in the fabric. The entire ensemble shimmers delicately as it gives Mom that slimming silhouette that she's been working for since her daughter set the date.

Gold is an obvious color choice for fall, and when it comes in soft sueded Charmeuse fabric, it can create an elegant silhouette for the mother of the bride. The One-Shoulder Sueded Charmeuse Side Drape Dress begins with a dramatic one-shoulder neckline before skimming down the body to flare slightly at the calves. This full-length dress is the height of sophistication, and Mother will be, too.

If Mom prefers a more modest gown but still wants that shimmer of gold, the Lace and Charmeuse Bolero Jacket Dress will be perfect. The bolero is covered in lace, as is the bodice of the spaghetti strap dress beneath it. The waist of the dress is empire cut with Charmeuse ruching that falls into a full skirt. The cut is flattering and modest, but with the classy look that Mom deserves.

A subtler shade of gold is perfect for more casual weddings, as is the Short Sleeve Dress with Jeweled Button Detail. This dress features short sleeves and a portrait collar for elegance, with a bow and jeweled buttons to wrap the dress closed. The fabric is "foxy gold" satin, an understated shade of gold that sill looks stunning. Mother will look beautiful as well as youthful in this fall fashion favorite.

The bolero jacket seems to never go out of style, and when it tops a dress in an understated shade of royal blue, it's perfect for an autumn wedding. The Stretch Shimmer Three-Quarter Sleeve Short Jacket Dress is comfortable in a stretch fabric that gives off an understated glow. The dress is short with slender straps and is pleated horizontally down its length for a fresh new take on the slim dress. The blue is stunning and perfect for the season. So, too, will be the mother of the bride when she wears this flattering two-piece ensemble.

Black is perfect for any formal occasion, even a wedding, and when the little black dress is embellished with lace, it can be a real stunner. The Portrait Collar Knit Dress with Lace Skirt will give any mother of the bride a graceful silhouette. The collar flatters the neckline while the beaded lace skirt flatters the legs. The skirt falls to the knee in a slim line that is elegant as well as comfortable.

Champagne is another color that suits the cool weather of autumn. The Hammered Shimmer Cap Sleeve Short Tier Dress is lovely, elegant, and unique. The open neckline gives Mom a chance to show off a lovely necklace, and the tiered skirt will flatter her figure and make her legs look fabulous. This is a comfortable and feminine dress that is perfect for a formal or semi-formal wedding.

For the ultimate in formal sophistication, the mother of the bride might choose a One-Shoulder Taffeta Ball Gown with Side Drape. This dress comes in plum, a special color for fall, and that shade combined with the iridescence of the taffeta will give the wearer a glow that everyone will notice. The side-drape of this gown is flattering on any figure, and the full skirt will make her feel like a girl as she whirls around the dance floor at the wedding reception.

The mother of the bride is one of the most honored guests at any wedding. Be sure she looks her very best in a striking and form flattering dress.

2011 Fall and Winter Bridesmaid Dress Trends

For the past few years, bridesmaid dress trends have been influenced heavily by the economic downturn and its aftermath. Though the economy is looking sunnier, a lot of the trends from previous seasons have held over and evolved into what bridesmaids will be wearing this fall and winter!

Fall Bridesmaid Dress

Length

The biggest trend in bridesmaid dresses has been knee-length dresses. Though many brides are still putting their bridesmaids in tea and floor length gowns, shorter lengths have become increasingly popular in recent years. Knee-length, cocktail-style dresses are much more likely to be worn again, so brides who want their bridal party to be able to reuse their dresses more easily have been moving toward shorter dresses. You can never guarantee wear ability for everyone, but by keeping reuse potential in the back of your mind, you'll be doing your bridesmaids a big favor.

Neckline

The strapless dress also still holds its own, for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. Many, if not most, of the dresses for fall/ winter 2011 are strapless, an elegant style that emphasizes the neck and shoulders in a classically feminine way. A strapless bridesmaid dress that has been properly fitted to its wearer is one of the most flattering styles around. Just be sure to invest in a quality strapless bra!

One-shoulder dresses are also rapidly growing in popularity. The unique, asymmetrical shape of a one-shoulder bridesmaid dress suits brides who want a bridal party with a fashion-forward edge. The single shoulder strap can be delicate, for a feminine look, or bolder, for a more sassy and urban appearance.

And below are some other neckline looks I’ve seen regarding bridesmaid dresses for this year:

  • More rounded sweetheart neckline
  • Halter styles using pleated chiffon
  • Ruffled neckline
  • Bateau neckline

Embellishment

Feminine touches like lace, floral, bead, and sequin embellishment are back in a big way, as are soft chiffons. Many bridesmaid dresses for Fall 2011 are somewhat more body conscious than in recent years, using sashes, bows, and ruching in order to emphasize the natural waist for a classic and feminine look.

Many dresses are being seen with:

  • Pockets – creating a more casual feel, despite perhaps a floor-length or formal design
  • Asymmetrical draping on the bodice - this can give the illusion of a smaller waist.
  • Belts and Sashes
  • Architectural fabric details (intricate folds, cascades and pleats) combined with romantic elements such as lace and embroidery.
  • Draping that appears quite Grecian-inspired
  • Bows and fabric petal and flower details
  • Ruffled detailing
  • Pleating

Winter Bridesmaid Dress

Color

Popular colors for Fall/ Winter 2011 are bright like apple green, fuchsia, coral, amethyst, emerald, orange, and yellow. These vibrant colors are also balanced out with muted, soft colors like grey, navy, and chocolate brown.

Winter Bridesmaid Dresses

Fabric

Bridesmaid dresses this year mostly feature the usual silk, satin, lace, chiffon, crinkle chiffon and taffeta.

How to Choose a Prom Dress that can Make You Look Slimmer

A prom dress will look fabulous on the shapely mannequin. It will also look great on the clothes hanger. That does not mean prom dresses are all meant to look great on the person wearing them. There are some tips that you will have to keep in mind when you choose from many prom dresses to make sure they will look good on you.

The first thing to do is to make sure that you have your measurements right. Doing this when nude is the best way to get the most accurate of measurements. With a measuring tape begin with your bust and then to your waist and your hip. When measure on your hip, choose at the widest section. Note down all three measurements.

The next step is to analyze these measurements and base your body type on them. If the measurements of your waist and hip are closer and your waist has a negligible indentation, then you are what is known as an H body type. This means you are straight up and down. If your waist has the widest of all three measurements then you have a round body. A small bust, with an average sized waist and wide hips means you have an A shaped body. The classic hourglass shape means you have a large bust, a small waist and wide hips.

Each of these body types will have to be clothed in various ways. Knowing your body type will actually help you decide from the many prom dresses on what will best compliment your look. If you want to look slimmer then choose a monochrome dress. A single color will give out an elongated look. Dark colors too make you look slimmer. However, black does not suit everybody, so look at prom dress in shimmering fabric.

Neutral shades of color such as dark grey, wine, forest green, dark blue and even shades of brown will help you look slimmer. Vertical design patterns are flattering as are materials that conform to the shape of your body. Clinging materials should be avoided. The way you accessorize is also very important. Chunky shoes make your legs look stubbier as do an excess of jewelry.

2011 Fall Wedding Dresses Trend and Ideas

Are you getting married this fall? Maybe you still want to find the perfect wedding dress or need some ideas on how to style your dress to be in keeping with the latest trends. Get inspired with these 2011 fall wedding dress ideas and trends.

Natural waistline is important for 2011 fall wedding dresses. To bring emphasis to the waist, designers often accent the area with a special sash or belt. Beaded or jeweled sashes are a very big design trend, particularly on wedding dresses which are otherwise fairly simple. These gowns look wonderful when accessorized with crystal wedding jewelry and a dainty tiara or jeweled headband. Colored belts are also a popular way to emphasize the natural waistline on a bridal gown. Pastels like blue and pink will be frequently seen, and black at the waist will also remain in style. Adding a colored or jeweled belt to an unembellished wedding gown is a very easy way to personalize your dress and make it look very current.

Romance will be another key trend for 2011 fall wedding dresses. Soft layers of tulle are a very popular trend across all price points and bridal gown designers. Many of the tulle wedding dresses are strapless, but it is not the straight across neckline which has dominated for the last several years. Gently shaped sweetheart strapless necklines are softer and more feminine than the straight ones, and they also tie in beautifully with the 1950's flavor that many of the tulle gowns have. The tulle skirts are often artfully layered for a modern update to a classic style.

2011 fall wedding dresses

In the wake of this spring's royal wedding, expect to see a lot of princess style wedding gowns for 2011 fall. These gowns are more sophisticated than poufy, perhaps inspired by the elegant and chic style of royal bride Princess Catherine. We aren't talking puff sleeves and cathedral length trains as much as silk ball gowns with flat box pleats and fine lace trim. Delicate crystal beading or silver embroidery are other lovely accents for regal style wedding gowns. Small tiaras have made a roaring comeback since the royal wedding, especially when worn with gorgeous sparkling wedding jewelry like Princess Catherine's now-famous drop earrings.

fall wedding colors

Speaking of the royal wedding, look for lace sleeves to be seen all over the place for 2011 fall weddings. Brides who have tired of strapless dresses will be delighted to find many dresses available with sheer fitted lace sleeves. Even before the royal wedding, designers had started to feature these gowns in their collections, and now the number of options is sure to expand even more. How nice to finally have choices for fall wedding dresses that are not sleeveless! If you still like the look of strapless or are concerned about how long sleeves will limit your arm movement, consider adding a fitted lace shrug over your bridal dress to get the look for the ceremony. You can always remove it for dancing at the reception, giving you the best of both worlds.

Fall wedding favors

One more trend to watch for this fall is vintage inspired details. Wedding gowns styled after the 1950s are very popular, as are those which are inspired by the Roaring '20s and the early 1960s. Brides can choose dresses in these styles, or accent a simple modern gown with wedding jewelry, a veil, and a bouquet to bring a hint of vintage style to their ensemble. It is certain that romance and elegance will be tops for 2011 fall wedding dresses.
